About the institute
A jewelry career starts at the bench, not in a lecture hall.
Since 1999, the Jewelry & Technological Institut of Lebanon has trained goldsmiths, stone setters and jewelry designers from our workshop at the Mhanna center in Dekwaneh. Classes stay small and hands-on, so every student works metal, sets stones, and reads gems under a scope from day one, not just in theory.
Whether you're testing an interest with a monthly workshop, sharpening one skill in a short-term course, or training for a full career over the academic year, the bench is the same one our instructors have worked at for decades.
Our courses
Each course is taught in our Dekwaneh workshop with real tools and real stones.
Work with precious metals, cut, clear, polish and solder. Melting, wire making and hammer work.
Set stones under magnification and pour molds that turn a wax carving into cast gold, ready for finishing.
Sketch and render collections by hand, the way designers rendered before software - still the fastest way to test an idea.
Learn to grade a diamond's cut, clarity and color, and to read colored stones the way a buyer does before a sale.
Translate hand sketches into technical, dimensioned drawings ready to move into CAD and production.
Carve wax by hand into models precise enough to cast, turning a design straight into the shape molten metal will fill.
